Short biography

Kathrin Steffen has been working as a senior researcher at the Oslo Sports Trauma Research Center since her PhD-defense in 2008. 

Besides her research interests in health epidemiology and prevention in the broader sports community, Kathin is now working as a full-time researcher to support the health team of the Norwegian High Performance Center (Olympiatoppen) in their continuous health monitoring and screening program, with a special focus on the Paralympic athlete. She is the project leader for ParaFRISK and involved in several other para sport activities and projects in Norway.

Until 2019, Kathrin has been the head of knowledge dissemination at the OSTRC and project leader for national and international multimedia projects to disseminate knowledge in sports medicine.

In addition, Kathrin serves as a research assistant at the Department of Medical & Scientific in the International Olympic Committee (IOC), where she has responsibilities for IOC driven research projects as the injury & illness surveillance during (Youth) Olympic Games.
