Short biography

Professional background in physical activity and health and physical education from the Norwegian School of Sport Sciences.

Master's degree (cand scient) in measuring physical activity among children and young people (2001), and a doctorate (PhD) in the prevention of obesity among children and adolescents. The doctoral thesis was a school-based intervention study (RCT) on the effect of increased physical activity and a healthy diet on weight development in children and adolescents in Norway (the HEIA study).

Previously worked as a school teacher, as a consultant in the Norwegian Directorate of Health and as an associate professor at Oslo MET.
