Mind in Motion

There is little research about the facilitators and barriers to physical activity as an integral part of psychiatric treatment among patients with severe mental illness.

Purpose

The main objective is to explore the experiences and perspectives of patients (bipolar disorders and schizophrenia) and staff members on physical activity as an integral part of psychiatric treatment.
We aim to increase evidence-based knowledge so future physical activity interventions are better tailored to meet the specific needs of patients with severe mental illness.

Project description

The project is a mixed-methods study, which combines data from questionnaires with in-depth interviews.

The MiM project consists of two sub-projects:

  • Patients' perspectives
  • Employee perspectives
