Introduction

Students will acquire practical and theoretical knowledge about ice games, volleyball, and handball. The aim is to develop a holistic competence in leading learning and development processes in themselves and others. Through practical learning, students will understand the key principles of organization, pedagogy, motor learning, and movement education in the mentioned sports.

Learning outcomes

Upon completion of the course, students should be able to:

  • explain the terminology and uniqueness of ball games.

  • explain pedagogical principles and key conditions that affect skill learning in ball games.

  • explore their own sports skills.

  • plan, implement, and evaluate learning activities based on non-linear pedagogy that promotes skill learning in ball games.

Learning methods and activities

The course will include a combination of teacher-led practical sessions, group work, and self-directed training/practice.

Work requirements

A minimum of 80% attendance with active and constructive participation in each sub-topic. The student must pass multiple-choice tasks and skill requirements in each individual sport. The multiple-choice tasks focus on the terminology and uniqueness of ball games. The skill requirement consists of practice and assessment of sport skill.
The work requirement must be approved to be able to get a final assessment.

Assessment/exam

Individual written assignment in one of the sports. Passed/ not Passed.
