Interested students must be nominated by their home institution if they want to study at NIH.
Courses are grouped into different packages. Within each course package no conflicts in scheduling and exams will occur. Students are required to take a minimum of 20 ECTS credits per semester they are attending NIH.
NOTE: It is not possible to create your own course package by mixing courses from the different course packages.
Course packages will be updated by March 1, for the upcoming fall semester. Courses for the spring semester could see changes up until October 1.

Bachelor level course packages
Exercise, health and performance (Bachelor level)
- THP201 - Exercise in practice (10 ECTS)
- THP300 - Sports Biomechanics and Performance Analysis (10 ECTS)
- THP301 - Cell Biology (10 ECTS)
- THP315 - Introduction to innovation and entrepreneurship in sport sciences (10 ECTS) - limited availability
- THP111 - Female athlete: Health and Performance (10 ECTS) - digital, online course
You choose three out of the five courses when you complete your semester registration in August.
Outdoor studies (Bachelor level)
- FRI300 - Harvest, crafts and outdoor cooking (10 ECTS)
- FRI301 - Friluftsliv, learning and skill development (10 ECTS)
- FRI302 - Nature philosophy and slow friluftsliv (10 ECTS)
Due to several field trips, these courses cannot be combined with any other courses, and students must take all three courses. You will need to bring your own equipment.
Sport Management and coaching I (Bachelor level)
- SPM230 - Sport Marketing (10 ECTS)
- TI200 - Sports Coaching 1: Coaching children and youth (10 ECTS)
- THP315 - Introduction to innovation and entrepreneurship in sport sciences (10 ECTS) - limited availability

Courses taught in Norwegian
Exchange students who can document a good working knowledge of a Scandinavian language (Level 3 at a university level or equivalent) can choose courses taught in Norwegian. Contact the International office at NIH if you would like more information about available courses taught in Norwegian.
